Success Story

In Mid 2005 we were the first and only site to sell and promote the band 'Scouting For Girls'. They were reviewed and featured on the front page twice and achieved the 2nd position on the 'Download Filter' chart, which they still currently hold. Such was our belief in the band that we put forward 'Scouting For Girls' to play a live gig for Oxfam, as the band we earmarked for success. 6 months after the gig in January 2007 the band signed a record deal with Epic/Sony, to take them to the next step (the band are still on the site, they originally had 15 tracks on the site, but can now only make 1 song available). If we like your music, we will give it full exposure on the site. We don't let good music get lost in the crowd.

In order to register please provide these things:

1/ A number of MP3 music files no bigger than 15MB in size.This is either your composition or in the case of a cover version of songs you must also submit the composers details for each song in the your admin area. To create digital files in MP3 format we highly recommend CDEX as an encoder. We recommend settings at a bit rate of 256kbps. Download Here

2/ One picture, this can either be a band picture/album cover/photo.
They must be .jpg in format and not exceed 300 pixels in width.

3/ We can't possibly cover all styles of music and therefore specialise in the following -
Alternative, Dance, Folk, Instrumental, Experimental, Jazz, Reggae, Rock, Singer/Songwriter. Please have a look at the music catergories on the site first. We did previously offer eveything but our research showed us over the 3-4 year period that we should concentrate on the above styles and their sub-genres.

Secure Tracks: Your paid for tracks, are totally secure, as only temporary expiring links are created for paying customers. Each time a track of yours is downloaded, you get paid. We will give you 50%, a 50/50 split of displayed retail price. The current price we sell individual tracks from newer artists is £0.59, we pay a bit more than 50% of the retail price. We pay £0.30 for each track downloaded no charges, it's a straight £0.30

15 tracks, You can manage your tracks from your artist area in real time: Joining means you can upload a maximum of 15 tracks in total. It's possible to sell all of these or make 1 or 2 of these promotional tracks available for free, these choices are yours and can easily be administered in your artist area (It will become clearer once you look at your track status in the Artist Area). We need at least 3 tracks for your page to go live.

Stats of Downloads,Streams and Sales IntoMusic is very transparent in it's dealings, you will be able to see the number and type of tracks that are downloaded for each week, by viewing your stats on this page.

Our subscription service is currently not active to customers, we may consider relaunching this in the future but are currently only selling single tracks.

IntoMusic is an independent music site which has been successfully running for 4 years without financial backing and sustains itself. We have to pay for the increased file storage, bandwidth, sales tax,your MCPS (royality collection fees), credit card transaction fees and web hosting. Also marketing, promotion and general running and maintenance of the site.
